Cookie Policy

Last updated: July 7, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Baxter Research Center ("BRC," "we," "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on brc.com, survey.brc.com, s.brc.com, truerank.brc.com, truestanding.brc.com, timelock.brc.com, signin.brc.com, baxternet.brc.com, brc.net, and related BRC sites.

The Short Version

We use only essential cookies. Our sites do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, social media pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. Because essential cookies don't require consent under U.S. state privacy laws or the EU ePrivacy rules, our sites do not show a cookie consent banner.

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They can also take the form of similar technologies such as local storage. They are used to make sites work (for example, keeping you signed in) and, on many other companies' sites, to track users — which we don't do.

Cookies We Use

PurposeDescriptionDuration
Authentication & sessionKeep you signed in to BRC products and maintain your session as you navigateSession / short-lived
Survey sessionRemember your place in a survey so your answers aren't lost between pages (uses local storage)Session / up to 14 days
Duplicate-response preventionOn shared (anonymous) survey links, a cookie and local-storage marker — together with a hashed technical fingerprint of your device and connection — let us reconnect you to your in-progress survey and prevent duplicate submissionsUp to 180 days
SecurityProtect against cross-site request forgery and abuseSession
PreferencesRemember basic settings such as language (e.g. English/Español on survey pages)Up to 1 year

Analytics: some of our sites use Vercel Analytics, a privacy-first measurement service that does not use cookies and does not track you across sites; it gives us anonymous, aggregate page-view counts only.

What we don't use: advertising or retargeting cookies, social media pixels, Google Analytics, session-recording tools, or any cross-context behavioral advertising technology.

Email Measurement

Our research emails contain standard delivery and engagement measurement (open and click tracking via our email provider). This isn't a cookie on our websites, but we mention it for completeness — we use it to honor opt-outs, stop sending to unengaged or invalid addresses, and maintain sending quality. See our Privacy Policy for details.

AI Features

Some BRC products use artificial-intelligence services to summarize or analyze content you provide (for example, adViewPRO can send reader comments to Anthropic's Claude to generate summaries). This processing happens on our servers and through our AI providers' APIs — it does not place any cookie or tracking technology on your device, and it does not change the "essential cookies only" statement above. See our Privacy Policy for how AI processing and AI subprocessors are handled.

Managing Cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Because we use only essential cookies, blocking them mainly affects sign-in and survey sessions — pages may not function correctly without them.

Changes

If our cookie usage ever changes — for example, if we add an analytics tool that uses cookies — we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set.
